FAD

Scandalous acts, traditional politicians and actors – these are the fad today.

The Philippines belongs to the group of developing countries whose problems are mainly due to poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy, unemployment, graft and corruption and many more to mention. The Government, believed to be the powerhouse of the country, should help solve these problems. It must be aware of its duties. In our society today, liberation abounds; minds tangled.

Chaos. This is what we are experiencing now.

May 2010 election is like tomorrow for these officials aiming for higher position with greater power. They want their names well perfumed. Great talk today is the sex video scandals of a celebrity doctor. Famous as he is. Fame, which a few ride on. It became the core of the idiot box. The mass media carnivaled on it. Solely, it became the talk of the town. Haven’t they noticed other sensible issues especially for those senators having a owl eyed on it? Why not put greater emphasis on education? Haven’t they thought that this issue is the product of their neglect?
Education is the fundamental key for every success. To educate is to empower. To empower is to earn success.
A few of the young Filipinos today are malnourished. Why don’t the law makers create laws that help alleviate hunger and build a healthy community?
How about unemployment, illiteracy, graft and corruption – let’s just sigh, and then sigh again.

Is this really the fad?

In this country we are privileged of freedom. We have an unlimited access to free will. We have a choice and we need to act.
